Awesome - Super glue on gearbox screws
OH my god I am amazed at people............ Any ideas how I can extract this thing now that I stripped the head? I am thinking dremel a slot in the top of the screw and go at it with a flat head screw driver.

Re: Awesome - Super glue on gearbox screws
Is the rest of the screw still stuck with glue? Might make it difficult to get at.
Re: Awesome - Super glue on gearbox screws
Sears has multiple products that extract damaged screws. Here is the link for them at Sears.com :

Hope this might help ?

Re: Awesome - Super glue on gearbox screws
Get a Screw or bolt extractor kit from a store. They work like a charm if you can get a grip on the head.
If there is anything to get the screw driver into you could trying applying acetone to kill the effects of the glue momentarily and try unscrewing it again.

Sorry Bear. I'd be resorting to repeating the same bit of profanity over and over. I'm not even sure I'd have the presence of mind to pose this question here.

Screw extractor kit might be fine if you can find it in a small enough size, but the mechbox screws are typically 1-1.5mm diameter and about 4-5mm long.
Re: Awesome - Super glue on gearbox screws
Slotting the head works...Sometimes. A little heat applied to the side of the gearbox will sometimes work as well. If the head breaks you can use a #43 carbide drill bit and drill out the old screw. re-tap with 6/32 and you are good to go!
