G-17/ATP Magazine question Empty G-17/ATP Magazine question

If the activation button at the top/rear of the magazine (which I'm sure has a specific and very technical name) is protruding out of the magazine too far, can it simply be screwed in further? If so, is there a special tool for doing that, or do you just need a wide but thin slotted screwdriver?

This is the part

You can make a tool from a wide flat bladed screwdriver or even a spackling knife.

Thanks Texx...so there is a tool for it? I was proceeding slowly so as not to damage anything, but a flat blade screwdriver did not seem like it was going to work.

Well you have to cut a notch in the middle of the blade to accommodate the button. You can buy a valve tool.

You could also make one with a small pice of steel tubing, but you'd need to harden the notches and temper them, and while that may be fancy and cool, it takes far less time to just use a wide flat-bladed screwdriver.

You make sure the screwdriver is the same width as the valve assembly, then use a dremel to cut a dip in the blade. Then you trim the tool edge a little. I made one a few years back at Armsdealer's place, it took about 15 minutes with a grinding bit and a cheap $2 screwdriver.
