Free Game Weston 09/15/12

Where to start....

PJ, I found a gem I was told was worth 10 points, so I will be redeeming that at our next game together.

We had a decent turn out of 10 players, who I think all had a pretty good time. We spent the majority of the day with attack/defend the island.

During the first portion of attack defend I was on the defense. While playing I received a text stating there was someone up in the safe zone, so I left the game to get him. While I was gone one of my teammates was eliminated, and another forgot to wind his mag, leaving just one alive w/ ammo. Hap rushed the island from the river side and captured the flag with the only player able to eliminate him looking at him confused from about 15-20 feet away. Once at the garage I found that the person who was there was just there to say hi, and not play. I came back to the game to find it was over. We did a reset and ran it again for an hour.

The second time around we had a gun go down with a dead battery, but the player (Spencer) was able to go get a different gun with a charged battery and got back in the game quickly. I did not spend too much time on the island and preferred to cause problems on the flanks of the attackers. At one point Hap was bank of the island near the river and I was able to pick him off from his 6. According to Hap I shot him at least 6 times in the face (again my apologies, just keeping sharp for zombie season). The hour ended with the flag on the island securely in place, so we took a break for lunch.

Donuts and Subway were provided by Papa Thunder as they were left over from a meeting he had earlier that day.

We switched sides on the field and my team was attacking. We decided to take a route to the island away from the river as I knew there was an area where there was no water and the mud was dry enough to walk across to get to the island away from their main defenses. I led our team to the edge of the woods near the tall grass where I was killed with a hard shot to the right arm that left me a little bloody. I went back to spawn and came back into the game and met up with my team who had attempted to cross the mud to the island, but without my direction as to where the best spot to cross was, we had 3 men stuck in the swamp mud. Cheesehead sank up to his hips, Papa thunder to his calfs and Spencer to above his ankles. I went around them to the easy cross point ( and natural deer path) and crossed to the Island and yelled for them to advance onto the island. The route the rest of my team had taken not only put them in the mud, but placed them at the bottom of a 10-15 foot sheer cliff. Needless to say their advance was stifled. We got at least 3 of men onto the island and began to push toward the flag. We were then picked off one by one and never made it to the flag. The rest of the hour was spent one man down (Cheesehead) as he needed new, less swamp and poop smelling clothes. We were not able to get any closer than we were in the first 15 minutes, and failed to capture the flag. On a suicide charge up the middle I was shot dozens of times and as I yelled hit I was shot in the right side of my tongue. After the hour ended we went back to the safe zone to reload and go out for one last game.

The final game we played was a vip escort. Hap volunteered to attempt to kill the VIP while the Papa Thunder was the VIP who had to be escorted from the safe zone to the island. We chose to take the VIP along the river so we knew we did not have to provide protection on that side and could focus our efforts on just 3 sides. Hap took out one of our men with his shotgun near the ammo depot, and our security force stayed disciplined and did not chase after Hap. The VIP was moved without further incident to the Island and ended the game.

All in all we had great weather and great company.
